“I refuse to struggle alone.”
My recovery from long Covid/ME/CFS took three years.
At times, I struggled to do normal things like shower, eat at the dinner table, or spend time with my kids.
Early in my journey, I had an insight that recovery was not a thing I should be doing alone.
I joined a recovery program, I reconnected with my life coach, and I asked for help.
I reached out to three other woman I knew with post-viral illnesses and they each gave me key resources that would become the basis of my healing.
More than that, they gave me hope that I could lead a meaningful life in the midst of so much loss.
This is what I want for you: reach out for support when you need it.
Over a decade ago, I met one of my very best friends at a peer-support group for women struggling with infertility. We later started our very own support group for other women going through the heart-breaking process of IVF.
We refused to struggle alone.
Connection, resourcing, validation, accountability. These vital needs can only be fulfilled when we are brave enough to ask for help.
